This article about addicting games on XBox 360 is a follow up from a previous post entitled “The Apprentice Series“.
The gaming world today is dominated by two giants, the XBox 360 and Playstation, namely PS3. But to me, the XBox does stand out. I know that some of my readers would definitely disagree and I don’t plan to start a debate on this. All I can say is it is mainly a matter of taste, what I prefer might be different from what you prefer. But at the end of the day, we are all gamers and as gamers we unite.
Here are 5 top addicting games on the XBox 360. Once again, this is my personal opinion and you might not agree but I find them down right addicting games and do spend hours playing them.
1st Addicting Games On XBox 360: Halo 2

This is not a new game, granted. But it is an extremely addicting game, that is if you are like me someone who thrives on shooters. When Halo 2 was launched way back many many years ago, it was riding on the shoulders of Halo 1 which was on its own an outstanding game so its success was preordained. But Halo 2 did not disappoint. The presentation is excellent, the campaigns very replayable and it is by far the best, most complete online multiplayer game for any game console on the planet … dispute this. No one can deny that the Halo universe is one of the best gaming science fiction universe ever created. And then there is the Master Chief, one of the best shooter characters ever. Okay, calm down…. it’s great, trust me. Go get the game.
2nd Addicting Game On XBox 360: Star Wars KOTOR
If you’re not a shooter gamer, then how about the best role-playing addicting games for you? In this genre, my thumbs up is definitely for Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic (KOTOR). Developed by BioWare, the same blokes that gave us Baldur’s Gate, it actually projects the Jedi Knight universe much better than any of the Star Wars movies, at least in my opinion.
The sheer magnitude of the game will overwhelm you as you go from one stage to another. There are many different characters that responds directly to you in such a way that you feel as if they are real, it’s just that realistic. Also, the best part of the game is that you have a choice of being a good Jedi or moving to the Darkside.
Don’t expect to see Anakin or Han Solo in this game, it actually takes places thousands of years before Darth Vader was born, in a time when the Republic was at war with the Sith.
3rd Addicting Game On XBox 360: SoulCalibur V
Let’s take a look at the best arena game of the addicting games on XBox 360. This time my ultimate favorite here is SoulCalibur V.
What can I say, the graphics is superb and they flow beautifully. The variety of characters allow you endless gameplay with a huge variety of moves. The interaction is on a 3D platform that provides a 3 dimensional view of the fight. What is great about this game is a total balance between playing defense and offense. If you are purely an offensive player or a purely defensive player you would be at a disadvantage. You would have to strike a good balance, just as you would in a real arena.
4th Addicting Game On XBox 360: Dead Or Alive 3
In the fighting game genre, another game that stands out for its addictive nature is Dead Or Alive 3. Its visuals are stunning, probably one of the best looking fighting game ever. If you have played DOA2, you might say that it feels exactly the same once you get over the stunning visuals. The characters, combo moves and timing feels almost the same. But if this is your first time playing any of the DOA series, then this will definitely thrill you in for a very long time.
5th Addicting Game On XBox 360: Morrowind
Another role playing addicting game to challenge the like of Star Wars KOTOR. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. This is a game of epic proportions, giving you the ability to play the game however you please with very little restrictions. A lot of role playing games for consoles fall short when it comes to providing a game with depth but Morrowind stands above the rest in this.
The graphics and side line characters might be a little disappointing. I didn’t really like the way some of these extra characters just stand around doing nothing even when you try to interact with them but the fact that you can take this game in any direction you please makes it a very addicting game that you can replay for a very long time.
